Rambuttri
Thai Restaurant
This project goes beyond aesthetics, drawing inspiration from Rambuttri, a serene spot in Bangkok known for its tranquil Koi Carp pond.
The aim was to create a warm, inviting restaurant with a mix of vibrant and moody elements. Dark wood tones, rich fabrics, and golden accents create a luxurious yet cosy atmosphere. The colour palette, inspired by Thai Phrae Wa silk, features deep blues, rich browns, greens, oranges, reds, and golds, reflecting Thailand’s cultural richness.
Textured walls in deep blue lime wash evoke calm waters, with Koi Carp swimming among moon reflections and 'lily pads' symbolised by lighting and wooden art. Authentic Thai craft pieces were sourced, and a mural of cranes complements the nature-inspired theme. Toilets feature gold paper with fish tail patterns.
Inspired by local architecture, custom doors and dividers were designed with intricate wooden frames and textured glass panes. The ceiling's lush foliage adds tropical charm.
Seating includes custom upholstered chairs and benches in luxurious, patterned fabrics, with brands like Casamance and Kai. A large golden chain chandelier adds opulence, alongside a mix of metal mesh, woven grass, and luxury tassel lights.
The bar, adorned with a striking Thai rug, adds rich texture and colour.
Rambuttri’s interior combines vibrant and moody aesthetics with authentic Thai elements and nature-inspired decor to create an elegant, immersive dining experience, making it a standout destination in Leeds.
