Meadowcroft
Living Room
Artwork can play a deeply personal and emotional role in a room's decor, as was the case for this particular client. The client had recently experienced the loss of her mother, who had left behind a substantial collection of drawings, collages, and embroidery. Faced with the challenge of preserving her mother's memory and cherishing her creative works, we came up with a thoughtful and meaningful solution.
Instead of allowing these precious pieces of art to remain tucked away in a drawer, rarely to be seen, we proposed a different approach. We suggested displaying these artworks prominently, turning them into a central and cherished element of the room's design. To do this, we carefully had them framed to protect and enhance their appearance. This decision transformed the room into a space where the client could both enjoy her mother's artistic creations and remember her legacy every day.
Furthermore, these framed artworks served as the starting point for the room's colour palette. By using the hues and tones found in the artwork as a basis, we ensured that the room's decor was not only visually appealing but also emotionally resonant. This approach allowed the client to create a room that was not just aesthetically pleasing but also filled with personal significance and a tangible connection to her late mother, making it a truly special and unique living space.
