Fell View
Living Room
The client held a beloved painting of a coastal landscape, which served as our primary inspiration for the room's design and colour scheme. We drew from the painting's elements, including the terracotta of the roof tiles, the blue of the sky, and the yellow of the sand. "Bright" and "happy" were the keywords the client emphasised, making the painting's colours a perfect match.
To create a space that resonated with these themes, we initiated the process by opening up the room to take advantage of the garden views and natural light, achieved through the installation of sliding doors. We then tackled the challenge of a narrow room layout, which was somewhat awkward due to bulky, high-armed sofas. We opted for a single, lower, and elongated mid-century-style sofa, complemented by a swivel chair positioned opposite to enjoy garden views and interact with the sofa.
To add a touch of luxury and unique details, we commissioned a bespoke brass Jim Lawrence curtain pole and designed custom window treatments. We also included an array of Vivaraise, Mind the Gap, and William Yeoward cushions to enhance the room's aesthetics and comfort.
The result is a fresh, bright space that truly resonates with the client's vision and has become a place they adore.
