Welcome to my dining space, which also doubles as my studio in this cosy home. Given the limited space, I’ve designed this room to be versatile, seamlessly transitioning from a dining area to a creative workspace. The generous tabletop offers ample room for me to spread out and immerse myself in selecting and planning fabric choices or to host meetings with clients.
When decorating this space, I intentionally kept the palette neutral, allowing it to serve as a perfect backdrop for presentations. This ensures the focus remains on the work at hand, whether I'm showcasing design concepts or enjoying a meal. The result is a functional yet stylish environment that effortlessly supports both dining and creativity.
This cottage dining room design effortlessly combines rustic charm with modern elegance, focusing on natural materials and neutral tones, creating an inviting, calm and timeless space.
At the heart of the room is a light chevron wooden dining table, its subtle pattern reflecting the airy ambiance. Above, a striking black and crystal sphere chandelier; I used black pieces throughout to provide a bold contrast to the room's softer features. Rustic natural linen curtains frame the windows, their organic texture adding warmth and softness, maintaining the room’s refined yet grounded aesthetic. The room also features beautifully preserved original stone floors with embedded coins, offering a unique, character-filled foundation that adds texture and warmth while serving as a tangible connection to the cottage’s rich history.
Altogether, the space exudes a light, airy ambiance, balancing rustic charm with modern sophistication, making it a comfortable and stylish space that reflects the cottage’s unique character.
