Featherstone Hall
Living Room
The client's initial inspiration came from a white leather chesterfield with diamanté studs—leaning towards overt glamour. I believe luxury should be subtle and timeless, achieved through a curated mix of quality design pieces and materials. While the initial concept wasn’t my style, it helped clarify the client's desire for a glamorous, light, and airy show house look.
In response, I introduced the client to new ideas, aligning with their aesthetic but broadening their vision. We kept the white sofa and developed a neutral, light scheme with clean contemporary lines.
Though the original fireplace was removed before I joined, it allowed us to design a modern alabaster stone fireplace with book match marble. We also replicated a Ferm Living bench at half the cost and created custom cushions for a personal touch.
Motorised blinds were chosen for convenience and budget, as custom curtains were too costly due to the window frames. The blinds provided a practical and stylish solution.
Collaborating with the client on new ideas was rewarding, and he loved the finished living room. We also worked on the entire property—check the blog for more details.
