RED LION

Red Lion is a compact London cottage reimagined for a bachelor seeking both a cosy retreat and a greater sense of space. Inspired by the intimate atmosphere of a country private members’ club, warm colours and layered textures bring a relaxed, masculine character to the home.

Bifold doors open the living area to the garden, extending sightlines and creating a natural connection between indoors and out. Within the small footprint, a corner dining nook with bespoke bench seating accommodates dining alongside a comfortable living space, with mirrors adding depth and reflecting light.

Panelling and mirrors share a consistent horizontal line, while doors painted to match the panelling create visual continuity. The original beams were retained, sanded and given a lighter stain to preserve their character with a softer presence. Integrated storage within the dining bench and console makes every available space work harder, balancing everyday practicality with warmth and understated style.
