The master bedroom initially presented as a vast, blank square, and capitalising on the space to the left of the entrance, we sectioned this off to create a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite adjoining to the room.

This was a bachelors bedroom and he instructed 'Make it sexy Katie...' Well I gave it a go!

This luxury bedroom exudes sophistication and comfort, blending modern elegance with timeless design elements. The space is anchored by a plush, velvet-upholstered bed with an eye-catching, sculpted art deco headboard, adorned with cushions that match the curtains, creating a lavish and inviting atmosphere.

The room's palette is a harmonious mix of deep, rich tones, with the walls painted in a warm taupe that adds depth and warmth. The sumptuous, floor-to-ceiling drapes in a textured fabric enhance the sense of luxury and provide a dramatic frame for the large windows, allowing natural light to flow in while maintaining privacy.

A statement chandelier, with its intricate, globe-like design, adds a touch of grandeur and sophistication, casting a warm glow that complements the room's opulent feel. The bespoke lighting fixtures on either side of the bed are both functional and stylish, featuring a sleek, contemporary design that perfectly aligns with the room's modern aesthetic.

The dark, polished wood floors, laid in a classic herringbone pattern, add a layer of texture and richness, grounding the space and enhancing its luxurious appeal. A marble-topped side table adds a final touch of elegance, completing a room that is the epitome of modern luxury living. This bedroom is designed not just as a place to sleep, but as a sanctuary of comfort and style.

Featherstone Hall is a Georgian property based in Yorkshire, and was already undergoing a major renovation when I was brought onboard to redesign the whole home. The historic property was being gutted.... a little too radically and I arrived just in time to halt some of the skip enthusiasm. The designer is the first person you should hire on any project so we can ensure that all renovation decisions are well considered. Read our blog on the subject.
