toilet
This under-stairs toilet is space where you need to maximising space while maintaining a sophisticated and stylish design.
The lower half of the walls is clad in metro tiles in a soft, neutral tone, creating a clean and crisp foundation whilst the vertical lines draw the eyes upwards, enhancing the perception of height. Above, a striking wallpaper with a flowing Venetian marbleised leaf pattern adds a touch of luxury, its warm tones harmonising perfectly with the tiles below. The organic design of the wallpaper brings a sense of movement and depth to the small space, making it feel more dynamic and less confined.
A minimalist concrete sink with a seamless design is wall-mounted to save space and is paired with a putty coloured toilet, while the brushed brass fixtures introduce a warm, metallic contrast, adding a hint of opulence. The round mirror, with its simple yet elegant frame, complements the room's design and adds a soft, curved element that contrasts with the linear tiles.
Understated globe wall lights provide just the right amount of illumination, enhancing the room's warm and inviting ambience without overpowering the subtlety of the design. The careful balance of textures, patterns, and materials in this under-stairs toilet transforms a typically overlooked space into a stylish and functional area.
Before
Featherstone Hall is a Georgian property based in Yorkshire, and was already undergoing a major renovation when I was brought onboard to redesign the whole home. The historic property was being gutted.... a little too radically and I arrived just in time to halt some of the skip enthusiasm. The designer is the first person you should hire on any project so we can ensure that all renovation decisions are well considered. Read our blog on the subject.
